Where There's a Will There's a Way!

The 2012 IGA Global Rally in Las Vegas is just around the corner. Today, inspiration speaker Desi Williamson sets the stage for his presentation on overcoming adversity to achieve your goals in business and in life.

There's no doubt that we're living in some very challenging economic times, but fear not—we've been down this road before and always come out better on the other side. Consider the perils we as a nation faced during the Great Depression, the political and racial strife of the 1960s, the gas shortage of the 1970s, the decade of greed in the 1980s—in every instance we emerged stronger and wiser than before.

I believe that in order for us to become centered during these challenging times we must get back to the basics. Just as many successful organizations have done, we must periodically retool and rebuild from the inside out. And it all starts with attitude. As I always say, where there's a will there's a way. We must embrace the fact that where there are problems, there is also opportunity. It's all a matter of perspective!

More than 50 percent of the organizations that comprised the Fortune 500 20 years ago are no longer in business today. Meanwhile, many organizations have been created from scratch while others have reinvented themselves in order not to just survive, but thrive during these turbulent times. This happened because of visionary people who were not afraid to create change.
