IGA Days May be Over, but New Item Promotions are Just Beginning!

 November 6, 2012

The October "Fall into Savings" IGA Days promotion of IGA Exclusive Brand products came to a close last week, and all indications point to an even stronger and better supported brand initiative than we saw for our first IGA Days event in 2011. We won't have the total percentage increase in sales of Exclusive Brand products for another few weeks, but there is no doubt that IGA retailers across the country came out strong in support of this year's event. We saw more ads and in-store displays than last year, and more activity around our IGA Days online consumer sweepstakes. With that in mind, I wanted to take this opportunity today to thank all our IGA retailers and licensed distribution companies (LDCs) for getting behind the 2012 IGA Days event, and call on your continued support of IGA Exclusive Brand products throughout the holidays and beyond.

As I mentioned in a Perspective last month, new item development a key priority for IGA Exclusive Brands going forward, and we all have a role to play. For LDCs, that means reviewing the item offerings in a timely manner and communicating back to your retailers. The role of IGA retailers is to cut the new items into the shelves, and just as importantly, to promote those items to shoppers. Shout it, sign it, demo it—the point is to let shoppers know that these new items exist.

You're going to hear more about new items in the upcoming month, but there's no better time to start rolling out new products than in the busy holiday selling season. Let's work together to make the remainder of this year and all of next an extremely productive and impactful time for our IGA Exclusive Brands line!

As always, we look forward to hearing your perspectives on your IGA Exclusive Brand products, so don't hesitate to contact me at any time.

Thanks,

Dave Bennett
