A Big Thank You to IGA for Honoring and Empowering Wounded Warriors!

 November 26, 2012

In the week before Thanksgiving Wounded Warrior Project® got something that we were extremely thankful for: a more than $260,000 donation resulting from IGA's second annual Exclusive Brand event in support of WWP! This donation—which was more than double last year's contribution—will go toward helping to fuel the 18 programs provided to Wounded Warriors and family members.

Just take a look at how WWP works to nurture the mind and body while promoting economic empowerment and social engagement.

And yet, partnerships such as the one we have with IGA are necessary not only to raise the funds to support programs, but also to let people know about the need for Wounded Warrior Project. Over 50,000 servicemen and women have sustained visible injuries in the recent military conflicts. In addition to the visible wounds, it is estimated as many as 400,000 service members live with the invisible wounds of war including combat-related stress, major depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The efforts of IGA retailers, wholesalers, IGA Exclusive Brand suppliers and Red Oval partner Kraft Foods help create awareness about WWP's mission to honor and empower Wounded Warriors. Campaigns such as this help bring both visible and invisible wounds of war out in the open, where we can work together to educate the American public and in turn make strides to heal them.

We thank you so much for your support, and look forward to working with you again in 2013!
