Congratulations to the IGA Retailers Honored at The N.G.A. Show!

 February 14, 2013

IGA was everywhere at The N.G.A. Show, from the IGA retailers, wholesalers and Red Oval partners in attendance, to our front-and-center booth on the N.G.A. show floor. Perhaps the best representation of the fact that IGA's strength and brand power are continuing to grow is the number of awards that IGA retailers took home from N.G.A.

You heard earlier this month that four of our IGA retailers would be honored at The N.G.A. Show by Progressive Grocer as winners in the Outstanding Independent Awards. I would like to take this opportunity to once again congratulate these retailers for their accomplishments, and for two of them, also congratulate them for being recognized by N.G.A. in the 2013 Creative Choice Contest!

Tyler Myers' Ocean Shores IGA in Ocean Shores, Wash., took home the award for "Best Single Manufacturer Event" with the store's "Oreo Cookie 100th Anniversary" display highlighting a favorite Red Oval Partner product from Mondelez International.

Bob Buonomano, owner of Windham IGA in Willimantic, Conn, received an honorable mention in merchandising for his "Help Save the Butchers Program," which, with member stores worldwide, is focused on helping stores and their customers differentiate the beef, pork, chicken, lamb and veal sold in members' stores with that sold in superstores.

And to those winners we can also add an honorable mention for Archie McGregor and his Dissmore's IGA store in Dissmore, Wash., for the "Bakery/Espresso Radio Spot" highlighting the freshly brewed Craven's Coffee and made-from-scratch doughnuts from the bakery.

Congratulations to all of our winners at The N.G.A. Show. You make us proud!

Thanks,
