IGA Area Director
IGA retailers are known throughout the industry for their outstanding achievements in retailing. Today IGA Area Director Ricky St. John congratulates two IGA retailers on recent awards.
At the recent awards ceremony held earlier this month in Omaha, Neb., IGA Licensed Distribution Center Affiliated Foods Midwest (AFM) recognized the achievements of its retailers, including two exceptional IGA store teams that took home special awards reserved for IGA members.
The IGA Stewardship Award: Stanley IGA, Stanley, Wis.
Well known in their community for their hard work and dedication to family, customers, community and their store team, the Stanley IGA family-owned store truly mirrors what stewardship is all about.
When they're not looking at ways to help grow the AFM cooperative, they are busy with community activities ranging from school and charitable organization fundraisers to organizing the annual prison rodeo.
The IGA Hometown Proud Award: Ptacek's IGA, Prescott, Wis.
If you read last week's edition of The Independent View about Ptacek's IGA's record-breaking Budweiser brat and their park fundraiser, you already know that this store team pretty much wrote the book on brand awareness. And since this is not the first but the second record-breaking brat Ptacek's has had in as many years, it's safe to say that there's not a shopper within a hundred miles who doesn't know about Ptacek's IGA and what it means to be "Hometown Proud" in the Prescott community.
Add to that semi-annual meat sales that offer huge savings on the best quality meat available—including custom cuts and housemade selections—and you can understand both why Ptacek's meat department has such a loyal following and is able to quadruple weekly meat sales in just one day.
Congratulations to these two award-winning IGA retailers!
