Chicago, IL - IGA today announced the appointment of Brian Horrigan to the position of area director for IGA Global and IGA USA. Horrigan will work to advance IGA’s interests in Russia, Poland, the Caribbean, and South Africa, as well as in southeast and the northeast regions of the United States. In this dual role, Horrigan will assist IGA Global CEO Thomas Haggai to further IGA Global’s expansion, and also work with IGA Senior Vice President of Retail and Business Development Doug Fritsch to accomplish the same goal in the designated areas of the United States. As part of his duties, Horrigan will serve as a liaison between IGA USA and the wholesale and retail members in his assigned areas in order to ensure that the retailers receive the maximum benefit from IGA programs and the IGA brand.
Horrigan is a 20-plus year veteran of the Consumer Package Goods (CPG) industry, where he has worked in all phases of business operations both in the retail and manufacturing sectors. He began his professional career with Del Monte USA before attending Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business. He has spent the past 16 years in a variety of senior management positions including vice president of sales and marketing as well as vice president of business development for Fortune 100 and privately held CPG companies. More recently he served as president of a multi-unit retail chain where he guided all aspects of a start-up venture for private equity investors, achieving national ranking in its class of trade.
“I have always admired the spirit, motivation and enthusiasm embraced by IGA independent retailers as they work to serve their communities,” Horrigan said. “I look forward to expanding and enhancing the IGA Brand both here in the United States and overseas.”
“Brian’s experience and expertise will prove invaluable to our IGA Retailers, licensed distribution centers and Red Oval partners as we strive to build the IGA Brand into the preferred choice among independents and regional chains,” said Doug Fritsch, IGA USA senior vice president, retail and business development.
“IGA USA CEO Mark Batenic and I are both happy to have Brian on board the IGA team,” IGA Global Chairman Dr. Thomas Haggai said. “His thorough understanding of IGA and its mission will certainly allow him to make an immediate impact in the regions and countries he will be serving.”
