IGA KIDSFEST 2003 MARKETING EVENT PRODUCES RECORD RESULTS
CHICAGO, IL - IGA announced today IGA KidsFest 2003—the national summer marketing event held July 26-August 9—produced record results for IGA Retailers. This year marked the fifth annual IGA KidsFest, a child themed marketing event during which retailers feature sales on KidsFest sponsor products and host safety focused carnival days. “KidsFest has traditionally been a favorite marketing event for IGA Retailers, however this year was by far our most successful to date,” said Zorona Chapman, IGA marketing events coordinator. “Not only did we have exceptional participation from Retailers across the country, we had record sales results.” KidsFest 2003 ACNeilsen rated results: “Our focus at IGA is not to create more supermarkets, but to create community centers that serve with a Hometown Proud focus,” Dr. Thomas Haggai, president and CEO of IGA said. “It was that mentality, and our retailers’ dedication to their Hometown Kids, that was the spark behind KidsFest. Now five years later this marketing event is not only still going strong, but rapidly gaining in popularity. IGA KidsFest has become a highly anticipated summer event in IGA communities around the country.” IGA, the only global supermarketer based in the United States, is
