BOZZUTO'S , INC. AWARDED THE 2003 IGA PRESIDENT'S CUP FOR GREATEST IGA DEVELOPMENT


CHICAGO, IL - Bozzuto’s, Inc., a leading total service wholesale distributor of food and household products to IGA retailers in New England , New York , New Jersey and Pennsylvania , has been awarded the 2003 IGA President’s Cup for Greatest IGA Development. Chairman of the Board, President and CEO Michael Bozzuto accepted the prestigious award on behalf of the company on March 16th at IGA’s 2004 Global Summit in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.

The IGA President’s Cup Awards are given each year to two licensed distribution centers; one that exhibits the greatest IGA development, the other, the greatest overall IGA performance. Included in the judging of these awards is the increase of IGA Retail sales from last year, the net increase in total IGA retail square footage, the number of supermarkets added to the IGA system, the IGA Operational Assessment rating, IGA Brand support, Hometown Proud involvement and participation in IGA events.

"In IGA USA, Bozzuto's has embarked on an incredibly impressive growth cycle," said Dr. Thomas Haggai, chairman and CEO of IGA. "The vast majority of the new stores are just that—totally new, as we have licensed them into the IGA system for the first time. What is remarkable is that 2003 followed the previous year in which Bozzuto's also had an admirable pace in bringing new stores to be licensed."

Bozzuto's won the President's Cup on two previous occasions, including this past year and in 1997. The award is the highest honor IGA can bestow upon one of its participating distribution centers.
