MARKETING EXECUTIVE ASSUMES TWO KEY IGA POSITIONSPatrick Sylvester Named Editor-At-Large, IGA Grocergram
CHICAGO, IL - IGA today announced Patrick Sylvester has been named editor-at-large of the IGA Grocergram and director of marketing events. Sylvester replaces IGA Grocergram editor-at-large and advertising director Bill Hayes, who retired in mid-March. Sylvester began his grocery industry career as a front end manager for Dominick’s Finer Foods in River Grove, Ill. Over the next several years he held positions as vice president of marketing for IGA and national account manager for Kwikee Systems. “We will miss the energy and dedication Bill Hayes brought to our planning sessions over the years, and will forever be indebted for the way he polished and refined the IGA Grocergram, the very foundation of our communications network,” said Barbara Wiest, IGA vice president, administration, communications and events. “It is only fitting that Hayes is replaced by one of our highly respected IGA alumni. We gladly welcome Pat Sylvester back into the IGA Family and look forward to the creativity and direction he will bring to the IGA Grocergram and our marketing events program.” “My past experience with IGA taught me that this is a company based upon the integrity and dedication of thousands of independent grocers across America,” said Sylvester. “I look forward to bringing my best efforts to the IGA Family.” IGA, the only global supermarketer based in the United States, is
