IGA ANNOUNCES 80TH ANNIVERSARY MARKETING PROGRAM

Customer Appreciation Events Planned

CHICAGO, IL - IGA today announced in celebration of IGA’s 80th year as an independent grocery banner it has created a Anniversary-themed marketing program packed with exciting consumer prize packages. The program, which officially begins in February of 2006, will feature three newly created, consumer-driven marketing events designed to reward IGA’s customers for 80 years of patronage.

“ For the last 80 years IGA’s dedicated customers have enabled IGA to thrive,” said Doug Fritsch, IGA Vice President, U.S. Chief Growth Officer. “Since the beginning IGA has employed the ‘Hometown Proud’ philosophy that a supermarket can become much more than just a place that sells food—it can be a true Hometown Proud Community Center. We developed this consumer-oriented 80th Anniversary Celebration with that in mind. With the help of our famous brand name sponsors, we have created a marketing program that rewards our customers with product savings and a life-changing sweepstakes Grand Prize. We look forward to celebrating this milestone with our loyal IGA customers in IGA stores across the country.”

A host of famous brand name manufacturers are sponsoring the IGA 80th Anniversary marketing program, including Campbell Soup Company, The Coca-Cola Company, Coca-Cola Hydration Unit, Minute Maid Juices, Conagra Foods, Georgia-Pacific Corporation, Kraft Foods, Nabisco, Nestlé Purina PetCare Company, Nestlé USA, the J.M. Smucker Company and Unilever. Valuable sponsor product sales will run during each event.

The 80th Anniversary marketing program timeline is as follows:

IGA $80.00 Shopping Spree Sweepstakes
Feb. 26 – March 12, 2006
The IGA $80 Shopping Spree Sweepstakes will take place Feb. 26-March 12, 2006. During the two-week timeframe, IGA Supermarkets across America will offer valuable savings on brand-name consumer sponsor products, as well as the opportunity to enter to win an $80 shopping spree. Consumers may register via general sweepstakes entry as many times as they wish during the promotional period. Each participating IGA Supermarket will award one $80 Shopping Spree via a random sweepstakes drawing.

IGA Hometown Homeowners Sweepstakes
April 23 – May 7, 2006
During this premier event, IGA customers can purchase featured brand-name sponsor sale items from a shopping list for a chance to win the $80,000 Hometown Homeowners Grand Prize cash award. To qualify, consumers must submit the official IGA Hometown Homeowners Sweepstakes entry form, as well as a receipt(s) reflecting the sale of one or more of each of the featured sponsor products. The $80,000 Grand Prize, which is to be applied toward the renovation of a home, a down payment on a new home, or a mortgage pay-off, will be awarded via a random sweepstakes drawing from all qualifying entries. Retailers may choose to extend the Hometown Homeowners Sweepstakes in-store event through July 4, 2006 (all sweepstakes entries must be in by this deadline). Drawing for the $80,000 Grand Prize will take place at the beginning of August, 2006.

80¢ IGA Brand Sale
Aug. 20 – Sept. 10, 2006
The 80¢ IGA Brand Sale will take place August 20-September 10, 2006. During the promotional period, selected IGA Brand items will be featured in store displays and value-priced for 80 cents.
