IGA ANNOUNCES 80TH ANNIVERSARY MARKETING PROGRAMCustomer Appreciation Events Planned CHICAGO, IL - IGA today announced in celebration of IGA’s 80th year as an independent grocery banner it has created a Anniversary-themed marketing program packed with exciting consumer prize packages. The program, which officially begins in February of 2006, will feature three newly created, consumer-driven marketing events designed to reward IGA’s customers for 80 years of patronage. “ For the last 80 years IGA’s dedicated customers have enabled IGA to thrive,” said Doug Fritsch, IGA Vice President, U.S. Chief Growth Officer. “Since the beginning IGA has employed the ‘Hometown Proud’ philosophy that a supermarket can become much more than just a place that sells food—it can be a true Hometown Proud Community Center. We developed this consumer-oriented 80th Anniversary Celebration with that in mind.
