IGA ANNOUNCES SHOPPING SPREE SWEEPSTAKES

Customers Will Have the Opportunity to Register to Win a Pair of $25 Shopping Sprees

CHICAGO, IL - IGA today announced participating IGA supermarkets across the United States will host the IGA Shopping Spree Sweepstakes, the first core marketing event in the “2007 IGA Family, Friends & Food” marketing program. The IGA Shopping Spree Sweepstakes will take place Feb. 25 - March 10. During the two-week timeframe, participating IGA supermarkets will offer valuable savings on brand name consumer sponsor products from IGA’s Red Oval Family of manufacture partners, as well as the opportunity for customers to enter to win a pair of $25 shopping sprees. Customers may register via general sweepstakes entry as many times as they wish during the promotional period. At the end of the period, each IGA supermarket will conduct a random sweepstakes drawing for two $25 IGA CertifiChecks—one for the winner and a second for a friend or a relative of the winner in a different household.

“With a ‘Winner in every store’, IGA Shopping Spree provides participating IGA Retailers a great tool to demonstrate their Hometown Proud roots in the communities they serve. It also creates consumer awareness of the year-long plan, and generates excitement among our retailers,” said Jim Walz, IGA senior director of branding and business development.

A host of famous brand name manufacturers are sponsoring the 2007 IGA Family, Friends & Food marketing event program, including Anheuser-Busch, Inc., Campbell Soup Company, The Coca-Cola Company, Coca-Cola Hydration Business Unit, ConAgra Foods, Inc., Georgia-Pacific Corporation, The Hershey Company, Kraft Foods, Nabisco, Nestlé USA, Nestlé Purina PetCare Company, The J.M. Smucker Company, and Unilever.
