IGA Better Choices

IGA Better Choices is an online resource that provides the trusted health and wellness information shoppers are looking for from their Hometown Proud IGA. Backed by IGA Health-and-Wellness Advisor and Dietitian Kim Kirchherr, MS, RDN, LDN, CDE, FAND, IGA Better Choices promotes moderation, a philosophy that’s easy to incorporate into everyday life.

The center of the IGA Better Choices program is the website, where shoppers can learn how to make smart decisions concerning Planning & Shopping, Wellness, Food Safety and even Recipes & How-To’s! In addition to tips from Kim, shoppers have access to a variety of tools from respected and reliable sources, such as the USDA, FDA and CDC. These tips and strategies will help guide shoppers as they make better choices in their IGA stores and in their lifestyles overall.

IGA Hometown Label Savers is a new 2014 community-based marketing program that encourages community non-profit organizations to collect IGA Exclusive Brand product barcodes in exchange for funding towards organizational needs.

Wounded Warrior Project®

Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP) is a non-profit organization that began as a way to provide tangible support for injured service members and help them on the road to healing, both physically and mentally. It has since grown into an organization that provides over 20 programs for thousands of U.S. soldiers each year. IGA partners with WWP in a summertime IGA Exclusive Brands promotion that gives IGA retailers and shoppers the opportunity to do their part to help in WWP’s mission to honor and empower our nation's Wounded Warriors.
