Many IGA exclusive brand products are manufactured and packed by more than one company. The recall of IGA exclusive brand product initiated by a manufacturer of IGA exclusive brands applies only to the items manufactured or packed by that company.

May 9, 2013: Voluntary Recall of IGA® Brand “Vanilla & Chocolate” 1.75 Quart Ice Cream Because Package May Contain Undeclared Allergens (Almonds, Coconut, Soy)
Impacts only IGA® “Vanilla & Chocolate” ice cream cartons with a plant code “3783” sold in Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia. No other IGA flavors of ice cream are impacted by this recall.
There is a voluntarily recall of a specific batch of IGA Brand “Vanilla & Chocolate” Ice Cream (1.75 quart, 1.66L) with the plant code “3783” and a SELL BY date of 08-13-13 because it incorrectly contains Heavenly Hash ice cream, which contains almonds, coconut, and soy, which are allergens not declared on the carton. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to almonds, coconut, or soy run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product.
In an abundance of caution, the company is also recalling Vanilla & Chocolate ice cream dated between 06-08-13 and 08-27-13.

Consumers who purchased the product may discard it and return the product package to the place of purchase for a full refund or exchange. Consumers with questions can contact 1-800-587-2259 between 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Central Time, Monday through Friday, excluding holidays. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has been notified of this voluntary recall.
