Change—An Opportunity for Growth!

Change is a good thing. It keeps us refreshed and energized. It allows us to look at things in a whole new light. And most importantly, it opens up new doors of opportunity with our brands, our businesses and our lives. With that in mind, I'd like to take this opportunity to share with you a change in the Red Oval Family that I know will create additional opportunities and value for all of IGA.

As of this announcement, I am no longer calling on IGA for Kraft Foods—a big change indeed considering I have been that face to you for nearly 21 years now. But that's not to say that I'm leaving the IGA Red Oval Family. I'll still be working as a Red Oval partner—only going forward I'll be representing Mondelēz International, home to many of America and the worlds' favorite snacking brands. At Mondelēz International, we are unleashing a Global Snacking Powerhouse where our dream is to "Create Delicious Moments of Joy" for our customers and consumers. Our company holds the Number 1 position globally in biscuits, chocolate, and candy, as well as the Number 2 position in gum. Our USA business, comprised of Nabisco and Cadbury, maintains a similar status. Nabisco leads the cookie/cracker category with Number 1 power brands such as Nabisco's Oreo, Ritz, Chips Ahoy!, Wheat Thins, Triscuit and Premium. Cadbury's power brands include Trident, Dentyne, Stride and ID gum, Halls and Sour Patch. Our goal is help you win at the shelf and aisle each and every day.

And here's more good news: the Kraft Foods Group will now be represented by Jim Tanasse, a good friend of mine and more importantly, a great friend of the independent retailer. Jim is a seasoned Kraft veteran who is well-positioned to leverage his big brands and business opportunities into viable revenue and profit building programs for the Alliance, and of course, for IGA retailers. Be on the lookout for more from Jim, whose first official duty as IGA's Kraft Foods Red Oval representative was helping present the more than $265,000 donation to Wounded Warrior Project™ at their headquarters on Wednesday.

So, as you can see, this change is definitely "two" for the better: I will represent IGA for Mondelēz, an exciting new IGA Red Oval Partner company, and Jim will develop the Kraft Foods Group Red Oval relationship to create new opportunities for us all. And so now I ask each member of the IGA Alliance to take this ball and run with it! Let us know what we can do to put the Kraft and Mondelēz brands to work for you, your customers and your communities.

And in closing, I'd like to thank all of IGA's retailers for your business and loyalty—I promise to continue to work hard every day to earn it!
