Updated PPP Guidance on Safe Harbor & Certification of Necessity
The Treasury Department recently provided additional guidance on the PPP (Paycheck Protection Program) loans. Here are the key takeaways from the recent information:
If your loan is under $2 million, it will not be reviewed.
It is likely that all loans over $2 million will be reviewed.
If a borrower of a PPP loan over $2 million is found in review to have lacked the required basis for the certification of necessity, the borrower must repay the loan and will be ineligible for forgiveness, but no additional enforcement will be taken.
