Uber Eats Brings Delivery Access to IGA Grocers & Shoppers Nationwide

Written by IGA News | Sep 10, 2026, 4:58:24 PM

Uber Eats, a global platform that connects grocers, restaurants, and retailers to millions of customers and delivery partners, has joined the Independent Grocers Alliance as a preferred partner, giving IGA's network of independent grocers streamlined access to the Uber Eats marketplace and helping them expand their reach and compete in an increasingly on-demand grocery landscape.

The partnership enables grocers to tap into a unique, mobile-first customer base that is incremental to their in-store business. It is also part of a broader omnichannel strategy that will help IGA retailers meet customers where they are in more everyday shopping occasions, from fulfilling a last-minute need to topping up on produce mid-week.

Participating IGA retailers will be able to list their stores on the Uber Eats app, extending their storefront into a new digital channel and giving customers, including loyal Uber One members, another convenient way to shop from local grocers they know and trust.

Key benefits for independent grocers include:

  • Expanded Reach: Retailers can increase their visibility among active Uber Eats customers, including Uber One members, without having to build their own delivery infrastructure.
  • Flexible Fulfillment: Retailers can rely on the large courier network on Uber’s platform to manage end-to-end fulfillment, offering a low-lift option to add a new sales channel.
  • Simple Integration: Uber Eats connects with many existing point-of-sale and technology platforms, syncing catalog, pricing, and inventory with minimal disruption to day-to-day operations.

"Today's shoppers expect the same convenience from their neighborhood grocer that they get anywhere else, and this partnership makes that possible,” said IGA SVP Brand Development Michael La Kier. “Uber Eats gives our retailers a proven way to reach new customers and grow incremental revenue, without adding complexity to their operations."

"We're proud to partner with IGA and bring the power of the Uber Eats platform to independent grocers across the country,” said Uber Head of Grocery and Retail, North America Hashim Amin. "Independent grocers are the backbone of so many communities, and we're excited to help them drive new demand and loyalty through delivery."
