Learn more about Bel Brands in this recent Q&A with Bel Brand’s Stephanie Naylor, Account Sales Manager – Midwest, and IGA’s Heidi Huff, Senior Director of Red Oval Partnerships:
- Tell us about your company. What do you bring to the table for IGA members? Bel Brands is the #3 largest global cheese manufacturer. Specializing in core brands like Mini Babybel, The Laughing Cow, Boursin, Kaukauna, Merkt’s, and Owl’s Nest, we are poised to help IGA retailers introduce new brands that will target the growing snacking cheese segment and increase their overall cheese category sales.
- How is Bel Brands focusing on product innovations? Bel continues to watch for snack cheese category trends and provide innovation to capitalize on these trends. The recent launch of Mini Babybel Cheese & Cracker in the snack cheese combo category is a prime example.
- Why is the independent sector important for your business? Independents drive innovation, which means IGA retailers and Bel Brands need to work together to creatively grow the snacking segment.
- How do you plan to help IGA retailers increase their sales in the cheese category? Bel is investing in additional resources to support our independent customers as we strive to be competitive in the everchanging marketplace. We will work together to show shoppers that cheese—particularly the snacking cheese segment—is a snack solution that is fresh, fun, and good for you. Our job is to give IGA retailers the resources they need to drive visibility to the brands and product platforms their shoppers want, and we plan to do that with exciting shopper promotions and sweepstakes and through regular participation in the IGA national digital ad.
