Win a Trip to Paris 2024 in the IGA & Coca-Cola Olympic Trip Giveaway

Jul 11, 2023

Picture this: the world's best athletes competing on a global stage, roaring crowds, and international parties in Paris, France. And you're in the middle of all of it.

Members of the Independent Grocers Alliance now have a chance to live the dream with an all-expense-paid trip to the 2024 Olympics in Paris, courtesy of The Coca-Cola Company!

"We are beyond excited to partner with The Coca-Cola Company on this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to reward our hardworking, inspirational retailers," IGA CEO John Ross said. "Work with your store teams and bottler to create fun displays and social media campaigns to boost Coca-Cola sales and you could be in Paris next summer watching the Olympic games in person!"

The IGA and Coca-Cola Olympic Trip Giveaway is a retailer incentive program exclusively for Independent Grocers Alliance members. Three U.S. retailers and their bottlers will receive an all-expenses-paid trip for two to the 2024 Paris Olympics. This incredible package includes flights, accommodations, event tickets, access to exclusive Coca-Cola events, and a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to witness the world's greatest athletes compete on the Olympic stage.

In addition to the grand prize, winners may also gain recognition as an IGA Coca-Cola brand ambassador. They will have premier access to future Coca-Cola and IGA promotional campaigns.

"We look forward to seeing the IGA store teams' creativity put to good use for this program," Coca-Cola Director of Sales, IGA Global Brad Morris said. "I've seen what they can do in past display contests and can't wait to see what they come up to boost sales for the rest of 2023."

From displays to social media campaigns and fun, imaginative tactics in between, anything goes! Our advice? Focus on what's happening now — summer barbecues, upcoming holidays, family meals — and making Coca-Cola products a part of those events. (The Olympics are a year away, so there's no need to focus your efforts on the games.)

IGA's John Ross and Coca-Cola's Brad Morris talk about the IGA Coca-Cola Olympic Trip Giveaway in the above video.

How To Participate

1. Grow Coca-Cola Sales

To be eligible to win, participants will have the remainder of 2023 to grow Year Over Year (YOY) volume sales of Coca-Cola bottler-delivered beverages* in their store(s)**. Tactics may include in-store displays, promotional events, innovative marketing strategies, etc.

2. Register

Retailer members of the Independent Grocers Alliance must register for the contest here. Registration can occur at any time between June 28, 2023 and January 24, 2024. We recommend submitting your registration once you have completed the essay (see Number 3).

3. Submit an Essay

Submit an essay describing how your store worked with your bottler to grow sales for this effort, including any display photos or files that illustrate digital campaigns ran (essay will be 500 words or less).

How Winners Are Chosen

1. Performance Evaluation

A committee of Coca-Cola and Independent Grocers Alliance representatives will assess the performance of each participant based on their sales achievements (provided by the bottlers), creativity, and overall marketing efforts. Coordination with their bottler (as outlined in a joint summary of efforts), effective promotional campaigns, and the ability to generate excitement for Coca-Cola will be key evaluation criteria.

2. Winner Determination

At the end of the contest period, three participants who have demonstrated exceptional salesmanship, innovation, and a strong connection with the Coca-Cola brand will be crowned the winner. Their efforts in terms of sales, marketing, and coordination with their local bottler will have set them apart as the most deserving candidate to represent Coca-Cola at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
