With Farm Bill updates and credit card swipe fees currently being discussed by Congress, it's never been more important for independent grocers to talk with their Congressional leads about the issues that directly impact their businesses. The best way to do that? Through the National Grocers Association's (NGA) Fly-In For Fair Competition.
The Fly-in helps leverage independent grocers' collective clout and serves as an unmatched opportunity to represent the independent grocery industry. And it's not too late to get involved: on May 21 and 22, independent grocers, wholesalers, and state association executives with gather in Washington, D.C. to impact how Congress views the independent grocery industry in an election year.
"It is so important that we have real Main Street grocers come to Washington to help your elected officials and their staff understand how important issues that NGA advocates on your behalf impact your business," NGA President and CEO Greg Ferrera said. "We don't need you to be a lawyer, a lobbyist, or an expert — I just need real grocers to tell your story and help us achieve more wins for you."
