Bucatini is a beautiful pasta with a satisfying texture that looks like extra thick spaghetti with a hole in the center, and it’s the ideal pasta for a simple lemon and cream sauce like the one in this recipe. There’s just enough sauce to lightly coat the noodles, and the dish is studded with chunks of lemony, peppery tuna and seasoned breadcrumbs for added texture and flavor. Short on time? Feel free to leave the breadcrumbs out. They’re a nice addition but not a deal breaker, and sometimes you just need to get dinner on the table.
For the Lemon Pepper Breadcrumbs (optional):
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 garlic clove, smashed
½ cup panko breadcrumbs
¼ teaspoon fine sea salt or table salt
¼ teaspoon black pepper
Finely grated zest of 1 lemon
