Whether you're celebrating with kids, a partner, or just bringing a little joy to the office, Valentine's Day is a day to share love and warmth. This year, start or end the day with these cute heart-shaped strawberries on blueberry skewers for a dose of nature's candy.
What You Need
- 1 package of strawberries
- 1 package of blueberries
- bamboo skewers, sharp edges trimmed for kids
- optional: 6 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips for chocolate-dipped strawberries
Make It
Wash the strawberries and blueberries.
Thread blueberries onto the skewer.
Cut a triangle at the top of each strawberry, removing the greenery.
Top the skewer with the heart-shaped strawberry.
Arrange the skewers in a glass (standing up) or on a platter (laying down).
Want to sweeten the deal? Melt about six ounces of semi-sweet chocolate chips in a bowl (microwave at half power for about one minute, then stir and heat until melted), then dip the strawberry into the melted chocolate. Let rest on parchment paper for about 30 minutes, then top the skewer with the chocolate-dipped strawberry.
