AppCard Welcomes ShoptoCook to the Family

Jan 6, 2026

Editor's note: The below update is regarding two IGA Red Oval Partners, AppCard and ShoptoCook, who have joined forces for a more seamless digital experience for grocers and partners. The update was written by AppCard.

AppCard has acquired ShoptoCook, a Buffalo, New York-based leader in grocery websites, in-store kiosks, recipes, and social media marketing support. This step brings together two trusted platforms and Red Oval Partners that many IGA retailers already use, therefore strengthening our shared mission to help independent grocers thrive in an increasingly digital world.

This acquisition comes after years of close collaboration between AppCard and ShoptoCook, during which they have worked side by side to help grocers connect personalized marketing, digital coupons, content, and in-store engagement into a cohesive shopper experience.

What This Means for IGA Members

Bringing AppCard and ShoptoCook together creates a more streamlined, seamless commerce experience for grocers, shoppers, and brand partners across in-store, online, and mobile touchpoints.

AppCard and ShoptoCook users can expect:

  • Better alignment between digital coupons, loyalty promotions, and shopper analytics and the places shoppers already engage: store websites, online recipes, and in-store kiosks.
  • A more connected experience that supports shoppers before, during, and after the store visit.
  • Continued focus on making digital tools simple, accessible, and effective for every store team and shopper.

Across grocers already using both platforms, AppCard has seen strong engagement — approximately 18% of all digital coupons clipped occur on ShoptoCook-powered websites and in-store kiosks. These results reinforce the value of meeting shoppers where inspiration and decision-making naturally happen.

Expanded Value for Brand & Marketing Partners

For our CPG and marketing partners, this acquisition significantly expands reach and opportunity.

By adding thousands of grocery websites and in-store kiosks to the AppCard ecosystem, the combined platform now delivers millions of shopper impressions across high-intent moments such as:

  • Meal planning and recipe discovery
  • In-store decision-making
  • Promotion and offer engagement

This expanded footprint allows brands to connect inspiration, offers, and measurement in a more unified way, while maintaining the trusted, retailer-owned environments that drive performance.

A Shared Vision

“With this acquisition, we’re formalizing a partnership that’s already delivering real value to grocers,” said AppCard Co-founder & CEO Yair Goldfinger. “Our goal has always been to make digital engagement easier, more impactful, and more measurable for independent retailers. Together with ShoptoCook, we’re accelerating that vision.”

“ShoptoCook was built to help grocers engage shoppers through content and inspiration,” added ShoptoCook President & CEO John Thompson. “AppCard has been a natural partner for many years. Joining AppCard allows us to scale what works and deliver an even more connected experience for grocers and their partners.”

What Happens Next for AppCard & ShoptoCook Clients
  • No disruption to your current services or support
  • Your existing teams and contacts remain the same
  • Continued investment in product innovation, integration, and support
  • More opportunities to connect content, promotions, and insights into a single, cohesive experience

Over the coming months, IGA members will hear more from AppCard about enhanced capabilities, deeper integrations, and new ways to drive engagement and results across your stores.

This next chapter strengthens AppCard's commitment to independent grocers and the partners who support them, helping to continue building the future of digital grocery together.
