A Thanksgiving Message from IGA CEO John Ross

Nov 25, 2025

As we head into Thanksgiving, I want to take a moment to recognize the extraordinary work you and your teams have done to help families across America prepare for this special holiday. No matter the challenges in the world or the economy, Thanksgiving remains a moment when people gather, cook, and celebrate together — and none of that happens without the dedication of independent retailers and wholesalers like you.

This year, we have again seen how difficult it can be for many of our shoppers — from the struggling middle class to low-income families working hard just to make ends meet. Yet every day, across thousands of IGA stores, you show compassion, creativity, and commitment to making food both accessible and affordable. Whether it’s private-label value, sharp pricing, meal solutions, community partnerships, or the personal service that only independents can provide, you continue to be a lifeline for the people who need us most.

And for that, I am deeply grateful.

At IGA, we have a great deal to be thankful for this year. Despite headwinds across the industry, we are positioned for another strong year of growth in 2025, and an even bigger one next year. That’s a testament to the strength of the IGA brand, the resilience of our model, and your willingness to innovate, adapt, and lead. But ultimately, the greatest thing we have to be thankful for isn’t a sales number or a growth forecast. It’s the people: the retailers, the wholesalers, the store leaders, the associates, and everyone across this organization and industry who make IGA what it is.

I hope each of you finds time this week to step back, breathe, and enjoy moments of joy with your friends and families. You deserve it — and more.

From all of us at IGA, thank you for everything you do. I wish you a warm, peaceful, and very Happy Thanksgiving.

John
